I’m settling into my new place with my sister and have once again been through the process of packing up my life, moving a few miles outside of London and unpacking all my stuff again. Writing an essay is more stressful admittedly but still every year I find myself overwhelmed by just how much I own. I have lived in a single bedroom for one year with only a wardrobe and desk making up the other furniture. There’s not much space yet I’ve managed to accumulate more after my year abroad. Admittedly the title is more negative than usual but that’s because it seems to be becoming a normal situation in the UK. Before I graduated the situation was pretty awful for graduates. A mountain of debt, hours spent on rejected applications and no disposable income.
